What Eclipse is

Eclipse helps you set a daily limit on apps you choose, keep a streak, put the phone down on purpose, and stay honest with a small circle of friends. It is a self-management tool: you configure it, and it acts only on your own device.

Using Eclipse

• You need to be old enough to have your own Apple Account and to agree to these terms where you live.
• Eclipse manages your own device only. Limits, shields, unlock windows, and phone-down sessions run locally. Friends and anchors can only answer requests you send, and they never control your phone.
• The circle is optional. Adding a friend means typing their tag, and they have to approve it before either of you can see the other.
• Be kind in your circle. Do not use display names, tags, session titles, or requests to harass or impersonate anyone. Eclipse filters content, and you can report or block accounts.

Streaks, day outcomes, and honesty

Streaks, day outcomes, and phone-down time are motivational constructs the app computes from what iOS measures. Tightening your goal keeps your streak; loosening it (raising your limit, or dropping an app you were watching) costs it, and the app tells you which one you are about to do before you confirm. A private iCloud recovery record may restore recent outcomes after reinstalling, a gap with a full unmeasured day can still break the streak, and iOS cannot recover usage from before a reinstall.

Fuel and cosmetics

Finishing a voluntary phone-down session earns fuel, which buys 3D bodies to display in the app. Fuel has no monetary value. It cannot be bought, sold, transferred, exchanged, or refunded, it lives on your device, and it may be adjusted or reset as the app develops. Above all, fuel cannot buy time through your limit, and neither can money. That boundary is deliberate and is not going to move.

Third-party content

The 3D bodies are licensed from their creators under Creative Commons Attribution. Every one of them is credited by name in the app, at the bottom of the Outfitter.

Eclipse supports habits around screen time. It is not medical, psychological, or therapeutic advice.

Availability and changes

Eclipse is under active development and currently distributed as a TestFlight beta. Features may change or disappear, and the service behind the friend circle (Apple iCloud and CloudKit) may be briefly unavailable. We may update these terms; the current version always lives at this page.

Liability

To the extent permitted by law, Eclipse is provided "as is", and we are not liable for indirect damages or for what you do or don't do on your phone. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited.
